Aluminium Weight Calculator
Enter dimensions or pick a profile from the catalogue; the cross-section and weight are calculated instantly. Works for profiles, tubes, bars, angles, sheet, plate and coil.
The kg/m values in the EAS standard profile catalogue are calculated with 2.70. For sheet and plate the common 1050 alloy is 2.71.
Aluminium weight calculation formula
For every aluminium product the weight is volume multiplied by density.
L = length · ρ = density (g/cm³)
For profiles the volume is cross-section area × length; for sheet and plate it is width × length × thickness. The cross-section areas here come from the same geometry engine that draws the catalogue sections, verified against the kg/m values of 1,949 catalogue profiles.
Example: a 3000 × 1500 × 1 mm plate → 3 × 1.5 × 1 × 2.71 = 12.195 kg. For 234 pieces, 2,854 kg.
Results are theoretical; production tolerance, surface treatment (anodising/coating) and cutting allowance are not included.
