Tread plate (chequer) · Weight calculator
Chequer plate. The pattern adds weight on top of the base thickness; enter the pattern allowance from your supplier data.
The kg/m values in the EAS standard profile catalogue are calculated with 2.70. For sheet and plate the common 1050 alloy is 2.71.
Tread plate (chequer) weight calculation formula
Chequer plate. The pattern adds weight on top of the base thickness; enter the pattern allowance from your supplier data.
L = length · ρ = density (g/cm³)
For profiles the volume is cross-section area × length; for sheet and plate it is width × length × thickness. The cross-section areas here come from the same geometry engine that draws the catalogue sections, verified against the kg/m values of 1,949 catalogue profiles.
Example: a 3000 × 1500 × 1 mm plate → 3 × 1.5 × 1 × 2.71 = 12.195 kg. For 234 pieces, 2,854 kg.
Results are theoretical; production tolerance, surface treatment (anodising/coating) and cutting allowance are not included.
